Atelier is led by Matthew McAdden, a respected sector leader with an exceptional track record in property management with a strong record of innovative thinking, combined with solid experience.
Matthew is a founding director of Atelier Group. He developed his expertise over 12 years in the student accommodation sector, managing the acquisition, development and operation of £1.5 billion in property assets. He was Managing Director of Development for London and Scotland at Dom@in, a joint venture between Moorfield Group and Bank of Scotland.
In 2002 he joined UNITE London, which opened its first student housing scheme the same year. By the end of 2009, the company had developed and was operating 28 properties providing 7,000 beds, with a value of £1 billion and turnover of £75m per year. Before he moved to this sector, Matthew specialised in structured finance and financial risk management for PFI and PPP projects for JC Rathbone Associates.
As well as founding Ziggurat Student Living and developing Wellgate House in Edinburgh, Matthew also acquired King’s Road, Reading, formerly University-owned, and successfully re-let it through Fawleybridge Student Accommodation.
With Atelier Group, Matthew led the acquisition of Montrose, developing it into the highly successful asset it is today. Matthew is leading a number of different projects in Ireland in all three core Atelier Group businesses - Development Management, Property Management, and Asset Advisory.
