Matthew McAdden is Founder and CEO of Atelier Property Group. Matthew developed his expertise in the student accommodation sector, managing the acquisition, development and operation of £1.5 billion in property assets. Matthew was a Director of Dom@in (Bank of Scotland and Moorfield Group JV) during which period he acquired and completed the construction and letting of 1,162 beds in Liverpool; acquired and secured planning on a further 927 beds in Liverpool and Cardiff and identified a further pipeline of 2,000 beds in Cardiff, Liverpool, Manchester and Newcastle. This 4,000-bed portfolio was sold to Liberty Living in 2006. In 2002 he joined UNITE as Regional Development Director for London, which opened its first student housing scheme the same year. From 2005-2006 he was Managing Director of Development for London and Scotland. He was MD of the London Business Unit from 2006-2009 and an Executive Board Director of The Unite Group PLC, by which time the company had developed and was operating 28 properties IN LONDON providing 7,000 beds, with a value of £1 billion and turnover of £75m per year with the Group growing from 9,000 beds in 2001 to 44,000 beds in 2009 and reaching the FTSE 250.
